  6. Pre Brexit on normal weather conditions the typical wait was no longer the 45 mins. I've waited as little as 15 mins to board the Dover - Calais ferry. The ferry and Eurostar adverts have both used the slogan "ROLL ON. ROLL OFF". Oh well , they voted for extra long queues and that's what they got. SERVES THEM RIGHT.

  8.  @reecom9884  You're wrong. I used to work at Gatwick airport from 1989 though to 2004. There's always been security and a passport control and you where advised to arrive at your check in desk 2 hours before your flights departure because luggage needs to be loaded on the plant and boarding passes issued. You had to pass through security to get air-side / beyond passport control and into the departure lounges but we're not talking about airports. We're talking about DOVER cross channel ferry travel. (Pre Btexit) You where expected to arrive at the port 45 mins before the boat departed. I should know because I've done enough booze cruse shopping to France over the past 3 decades was but now the UK is classed as a NON EU THIRD COUNTRY and there's far more checks to be done on both sides of the channel and this slows the whole thing down and causes delays we're witnessing. Just wait until the new EU bio-metric checks come into force. "Oh baby" the queues are going to be HELLISH.
