From what I've heard, this news is actually quite ancient news, save for now more information is understood about what's going on inside of the cell nucleus. Given, hydras were established as immortal back in the '70's, due to regression. The paper mentioned in the beginning was from 1992, but I recall the trait being mentioned back when I was in high school and I finished that in 1979.
