And physicians haven't been patrolling their ranks, as they're entrusted to police since they're entrusted to license, essentially forever, so the legislature really needs to address that deficiency. Circling back to the OP, great president? Not so much, adequate President, absolutely. Orders of magnitude superior to Trump's non-performance in office, where he sucked up the paycheck he promised to never deposit, yet entirely refused to perform 99% of his duties.

  5. The only time we didn't get along well with Canada was both times we invaded. Then, the Canadians politely escorted the remainder of our invading Army back to our border and handed them back their weapons. Benedict Arnold was wounded in one of the campaigns and due to a lack of veterans pensions and unable to work his farm after the war, he sold out to the British to survive. Then, Congress finally funded an early version of the VA.

  6. They know, Trump might not know or want to know, but everyone with an operational brain realizes placeholder dates when data isn't available. And those dates, well they'd have been pensioners in 1937 - 1939, when Social Security first began paying out and those years, payments were one time lump sum. So, wouldn't be collecting anything now. But then, we'd be confusing the issues with silly little things like facts.

  7. Ever notice that whenever he mentioned anything about Black people, he immediately followed up with something about farms and farmers? That's a dog whistle for plantation life. Frankly, it's a damned shame that that kid in Pittsburgh couldn't make a shot that a basic trainee a week in on basic rifle marksmanship training has to make or be discharged.

Or as I've told some morons that threatened to deport me, "Where ya gonna deport me to, bozo, South Philly?". In a fine South Philly accent at that, given both of my parents were born in the US, my mother's side of the family having Sons and Daughters of the American Revolution. And I'm a veteran as well and military retiree.

As a hint, Moscow used to belong to the Kievan Rus', who were Vikings that united the entire region under their empire for nearly a thousand years. As a hint, Russia's name originated from Kievan Rus' name, Rus'. Literally. So, by right of historical memory, Russia belongs to Ukraine, where Kiev is, the former capital is. And such memories live long and well in that part of the world.

The party's autophagy, well that hearkens back to the birth of the Republican Party, out of the ashes left by the Know Nothings of the Whig Party that they had purged and imploded. Downside, the new Republican Party's first POTUS candidate was some Abraham Lincoln guy and things got a bit difficult for a while.

  42. Can't freeze the payroll of Congress, it's unconstitutional to alter their pay up or down while in session. That said, everyone staying at home until he's impeached for misappropriation, convicted, then prosecuted for misappropriation of the entire federal budget can be done. What can they do, send the Army door to door to make slaves get back to work? At my door, they'd just have donated equipment to distribute, a vehicle and a very dangerous thing - a radio. Just pin on my old rank, join in and wreak havoc without being even noticed. And one of my specialties was infiltration and exfiltration without being noticed.

  45.  @Starghost1999  I'm reminded of May 5, 1789, when a starving populace finally got pissed off enough to turn on the elite. Suffice it to say, being an aristocrat wasn't a career one could retire from at that point, as the Committee for Public Safety ensured. And losing those farmers ain't a great move at all. There's already rumblings suggesting shutting down interstates with farm equipment and some discussing more boisterous actions. They've long felt the pinch of corporate megafarms encroaching, rising equipment and seed costs and been increasingly ignored. It'd be hard to maintain power while the trade routes nationwide are clogged, food supplies choked off and millions are literally up in arms. And every state that's started killing its farmers has fallen quickly. The cities know where the food comes from.

  49. The same was true with my father, who suffered from vascular dementia. Early on, I hid his vehicle keys and his weapons safe keys from him. Thankfully, we don't have that problem with Trump, he just needs to make a phone call to launch nukes at any time, day or night. Just needs one line of succession officer confirm his identity, which is required by law, they cannot lawfully refuse to confirm his identity.

  50. Clowns are entertainers, not always funny, depends upon the act. But, Trump is an unreality TV entertainer, who cannot tell the difference between unreality TV and actual reality. But, he did bring us news of a super duper missile, two words strung together I never expected to hear uttered consecutively by a President of the United States of America. Which, to hear him was in production, but had a less than 10% successful launch rate, was cancelled. Because, Trump has one other skill, the precise inverse of the Midas touch, where Midas touched something, it turned into gold, Trump touches something and it turns straight into shit. Well evidenced in his business failures and implosions of the lives of those dedicated to serving him.
