Comments by "Thor Nado" (@ThorNado24) on "Trump Asked: Why Are Tariffs On Canada And Mexico Tougher Than Those On China?" video.
@Marco1973est If the foreign goods become expensive, then locally produced goods become competitive. That will force the foreign source to bargain their product to continue the business. At the same time, the local produce will eventually help creating more jobs for Americans. Weighing all chain reactions, the prices will go down because of competition. The cheaper prices are from the effect of the law of supply and demand.

@ Before the Chinese products became abundant, American products were plenty exporting products overseas. They moved out of America. Trump's plan is to woo them back by high tariff and offering tax cuts and incentives if they return to US soil. For those who plans to move out to Mexico or anywhere else, Trump vowed to tax their products 200% back to America. If use wisely, tariff is a good tool to manage the economy.

@medeology4660 The high tariff will encourage American importers to switch to other sources thus forcing the China for example to lower the prices when competing with India or other countries of the same product. At the time, the high tariff encourages American business to put up local production creating not only job opportunities but also competition with imported products. The prices will eventually fall from the law of supply and demand. It's like a chain reaction effect. Trump is very good visionary when in comes to business.

@ You should trust a businessman like Trump than a traditional career politician when it comes to transactional business.

@medeology4660 With your way of thinking was the very reason why Biden administration failed to deliver and instead bring chaos and divisiveness with the woke non-sense, spending money on foreigners rather than America first without an accountability. The building of society is based on socialist ideals where few groups controls and the leader is just a figurehead. The policy was based on elite group to control the society which caused the inflation and high prices because of overspending on non-sense policies promoted as for the good of society.

@ Trump has done a tremendous job in the first week equivalent to 4 years of previous administration. Just watch him fulfilling the voters mandate.

@ The government is like a business. The company is the country. The citizens are the shareholders. The president is the CEO with the separate branches as directors. The citizens as shareholders invest by paying taxes and in return the government provide better services to the people. That's why the president with transactional business acumen does the better job for the citizenry.

@trentpryor2751 The US is still the largest consumer country in the world more than double than the distant second of the whole European Union.
1
@trentpryor2751 The offer of being q 51st state is actually good for Canadians to have more opportunities without worrying about country-to-country deals.
1
@ The US consuming power has always a leverage in trade deals.
1
@ Trump has soft spot on billionaires because they provide jobs and export products. There are no oligarchs because Trump is steering the country into MAGA.
1
@ When you talks about snake, you are looking at your own leaders who failed to make better.
1
@andreboisclair8827 That's good for the US either way. The US and Canada produce the same product including oil - the major export of Canada to the US. So with Trump's drill baby drill, the US will be Canada's competitor of oil exports and US stops importing oil from Canada - the biggest export to the US. That's the reason Trudeau resigned early because Trump did not agree with keeping the tariff.
1
@ It takes a smart transactional businessman like Trump to use the tariff wisely. Bringing the jobs back to the US soil helps job creation. The local produce will be competitive with cheap imports because the energy for production like oil is locally produced in the US. Besides, there will be wide open competition from different countries for exporting to the US. It will end up cheaper commodity with the law of supply and demand.
1
@andreboisclair8827 Up to Canadians, but Trump will do what he has to do in dealing with country to country trade.
1
@papabits5721 Then Trumps tariff is settled.
