Well, the economy of Canada is highly dependent on the US including the consumption of Canada's natural resources which the US also produces the same. The offer to be a state is a choice for Canadians to be better or to keep struggling ahead.

Imposing higher tariff will encourage US domestic production and bring back the US jobs. The US also benefit the additional revenue of the tariff. Increasing demand on local produce will eventually lower the prices of products for consumers. The US have the same natural resources as Canadians. So, technically the US don't need Canadian products.

  13. @David-z8i-M2J  Trumps tariff is only to balance the country to country total trade import and export. There is no tariff between the states. Canada has to deal with the trade tariff between the provinces and also with foreign countries. So Trumps tariff is actually a fair deal between countries.
