@bonnie7898 Why do you like Made in China and not Made in USA? The production costs will be cheaper when the energy is from locally drilled oil. So, it helps job creation and lower the commodity costs when the supply floods to the US market.

@JP-ub3iv The US is just doing American first. The tariff is selective and in the case of Canada and Mexico - Trump wants both countries to stop the flow of migrants and illegal drugs. The high tariff is also specific for products that the US has its own like oil and China made cars from Mexico for example..

@waylondesnoyers4606 Don't be sad. Trump lowered the tariff 10% on oil. So, Canadians can breath now. Oil export to the US is the bread and butter of Canadian provinces. It will devastate Canada's economy if they cut-off supply. The US can find another source from local drilling and other countries would love to supply to the US big hog on energy.

@ The tariff values are different for China and other countries with the same products, which levels the cost of import. The competition will force the country to lower their price to sell. The end game will be the eventual lowering of commodity cost.
