Hitler's god was not Odin (Wotan). Although he was influenced by it, in Hitler's time neo-Norse religion did not have defined philosophy like it has today. Simply, what is known about Norse or old Germanic religion is just fragments, rest are inserts . Thus, Hitler never called himself a Wotanist, not even in his private circle. In reality, he was influenced by different religions, Christianity, Norse, Buddhism, even Islam.

@Mr.Witness Ayn Rand depiction of good as selfishness was in fact pure evil. Which, considering her background (Rosenbaum) is not surprising at all.

Hitler himself drifted between various ideas , Christian, old Germanic, Buddhist, even Muslim. It is wrong to label Hitler as belonging to any particular religion.

@dragonofhatefulretribution9041 Well, since Europe started rejecting Christianity, European civilization is in decline, and so is European power. Before Christianity, only really successful European empire was Roman . During Christian period, Europeans rose to dominate the world. With the fall of Christianity European influence is waning.

Hitler was likely influenced by different philosophers (including Heraclitus) and different religions, but he did not strictly belong to any of those.

@CelticMysticSeer Highly unlikely, since there are no similarities between NS and Theosophy, except Aryans. Theosophy is a "weak sauce", similar to many New Age religions that flourished after WW2. NS is combative and confronting.

It is unlikely that Hitler was a full blown Wotanist (he would not use term Odin) . Yes, he wanted mora manly God, less forgiving and more fighting, also more Germanic. But, neo-Germanic lore was not that developed at the time, whole philosophy of Odin/Wotan came much later, staring in 1950s . Thus, Hitler never explicitly stated that Wotan is his God , not even in private circles. Germanic religion was more of the Himmler's thing. Hitler had his vision of God which was a mix of existing philosophies and religions.

@Klee99zeno Of course, so this video is kinda stupid for trying to present Hitler's supposed Wotanism as some kind of revelation . Hitler was certainly interested in that, but not in a manner that you could say that Wotan was his God.
