  1. Marxist under command of their "chosen" masters, mostly killed able-bodied. Elderly, children, sick ... would simply die of hunger or other diseases. USSR had lot worse standard of living compared to Third Reich.

  2. Unfortunately, civilizations do tend to nurture weak and degenerate at the expense of capable. Whole purpose of civilization is to protect the man from cruel nature. If the civilization goes to far, you would get overprotected population (looking at modern Western societies), that tend to break apart seemingly without the cause. Thus, some kind of eugenics is ugly but necessary.

  3. German churches were mostly against killing other Germans (even if mentally disabled). Against killing of subhuman-Bolsheviks (including children) , people like Galen did not utter a word. In fact, they supported crusade in the East, even after WW2.
