  5. The point they are trying to make is learning English is a requirement for legal immigrants. Same as any country. To immigrate to another country, the language is just one of many requirements. If he was here legally then he would have been able to speak the language for his interview. It's still horrible what happened to them. They must have have been scared. The problem with immigration isn't immigration. It's the people who don't immigrate. If they will break the law of illegal entry then they won't care about other laws. Also no one knows if he's a law abiding citizen or not. This wasn't a documentary on his life. It was a three minute news story. So acting like he's a saint because he was almost robbed is asinine. That tells nothing of him. Also this comment didn't have anything to do with the criminal. The other comments already covered that.
