  1. @jennjenn02 Killing with a knife can be personal but it isn't always that way. Take for example the illegal imagrant who decided to hop a train and then just get off at random places. Each time he got off the train he would pick a house, go in get a knife, restrain the husband and then torture the wife to death and then stab the husband to death before robbing them and getting back on the train. One day he attacked two teenagers. That's how they caught him. He didn't know the people. Didn't have a problem with them. It was personal. Just crimes of opportunity. Many serial killers also prefer stabbing or chocking. Even though their crimes aren't personal either. It's less to do with a personal nature and more to do with a sadistic one. It doesn't have to be personal but the person does have to be sadistic. Law enforcement are incorrect about it being personal a lot of the time and that's why serial killers have such a high body count. If cops were better and didn't make assumptions then they would catch serial killers sooner.
