  3.  @rhondasisco-cleveland2665  it's extremely possible he wasn't thinking of his own personal safety but only thinking of his mother. He wouldn't have had a reason to belive she had been attacked. He would have only been thinking his mother was elderly and in need of medical assistance in which case he wouldn't do anything accept pull into the yard and run into the house. Only afterwards realizing the situation he was in. I that case he wouldn't have called anyone before finding his mother as she could have been safe or not even been there. If he had called before entering the house that would have led to the assumption he knew she was injured before he entered the house. Which is simply not the case.
