  1. The two uprights behind the fire, were driven in 6”-8” deep by pounding with an axe. They stood straight up. Firewood was stacked against them to (1) reflect heat and light into the shelter. But in the morning, they both leaned back about 6”-7”, no longer straight upright. All the stacked fire wood had slipped into the fire and were consumed.   2. Packing the swamp grass in there makes a comfortable bed. But, in some locations and seasons, that grass can be infested with ticks. That would lead to problems. Courtesy of Half Vast Flying
