  1. I understand what you are doing here - modifying your gear to better fit it for your purposes. I haven’t tried much carving with my knife, so won’t round the backside now. It’s too soon. I think that if I do some carving, I might be pushing on the knife backside along the curved end. But since I haven’t yet actually done that, again it’s too soon. I like your idea, and will frog around to see if and how to adapt my knife. In the meantime, keep your powder dry. Courtesy of Half Vast Flying
