Once his "good old buddy" act fails, he immediately attempts to assign her various mental pathologies such as greed, self-centeredness, and narcissism to explain away her dissent. All obvious projections, of course. He asks her questions, cuts her off and then answers for her. The media being the way it is has to do with these people being in power and hiring their own, and they hate apostasy more than anything else.
