  1. It made it easier, made it cut and dry, and gave the world a great example this behavior. But the tire marks probably would have told the story just fine to any competent roadway investigator. it definitely kept the crooks from starting their harassment of her. They usually want to demand money on the spot or they threaten to 'take you to court' and get super aggro about it. Thats probably why she was targeted in the first place (women are easier marks).
