  1. Dinklage seems to actually think Snow White went to live with 'little people'. Like they were kicked out of their town for having dwarfism and forces to mine in the woods... Its the silliest thing I've ever heard. Makes me want to see Thorin Oakensheild just show up in his next show and slap him.

  2.  @MareMarMarie  those are different kinds of dwarves!! Human beings with dwarfism and dwarves are not the same thing. Why do people have so many problems with this concept? It seems so simple... are you trolling? Maybe you should play a mythical troll, since you are a trolling and therefore a troll... they have the same name so they probably the same thing, afterall.... (And yes, I know "trolling" comes from the fishing technique and not Scandinavian mythology)

  3. @paradoxzee6834  but dwarves do not have the physical proportions of 'little people'. Can you imagine someone with Dinklage's arm length trying to swing a pickaxe with any force? This would be like saying only gay people can play fairies, because people call them fairies so all fairies are just gay humans... thats just not how this works.

  4. @MareMarMarie  Dinklage's character in Game of Thrones was the child of two human beings... are you being intentionally dense here or something? Do you think King Oberon of the fairies was just some gay human male? I mean... they call him a fairy right? What's the difference?

  5. The dwarfs in Snow White were NOT human beings with dwarfism... I am still blown away by people trying to imply this. They were Mythical Dwarves... And no Dinklage, they didnt live in a cave. They worked in a cave mining... how many little people do you know that work in mines? Imagibe in Dinklage was cast to play Gimli in LoTR... it would have been ridiculous.

  6. The best dwarves in cinema came from Peter Jackson. That should be the standard. But for some reason Disney made the dwarves in their original look like garden gnomes... and garden gnomes are closer to the proportions of 'little people'... maybe thats why they are so confused?

  8. I never understood why Disney placed their first adaptation in the Greek mythos... which they obviously have no respect for seeing what they did the the story of Heracles.

  9.  @evenindeathistillserve760  those same people also claimed Tolkiens dwarves were supposed to be Jewish because they got dragon sickness which made them obsessed with gold... and that TOLKIEN was racist for it... not them for making that bizarre connection... but Tolkien.

  10. Little people make good stand ins for dwarves (and hobbits) when using forced perspective, but they shouldn't be cast as them. Dwarves are not little people. The proportions are wrong. Of course, Disney made them look like gnomes in their first adaptation... so maybe thats where the confusion is? Maybe we need to change 'dwarfism' to 'gnomism'...

  12. @Undomaranel  I never said Tolkien's dwarves were gnomes. And his dwarves were more norse. Tolkien did have "gnomes" (sort of) but they were a group of elves, the Noldor.
