I'm gunna go with... short person privilege. Maybe it's his 'my wife is a doctor' privilege...

A big problem is that collectivist minded groups will tend to assign a pathology to opposition rather than dealing with their arguments honestly. Not only are they potentially ignoring a problem in their collective, but are tacitly admitting that these accusations have merit. For instance, I once critized the actions of Sor.os and was told that I was bring antisemitic. I wasn't, and they knew that, but they didn't want to have an honest conversation about it. By doing that, this person accidentally implied that the bad behavior of Sor.os and semitism are synonymous. To criticize one is to criticize the other. To criticize that behavior is to criticize Semitism itself. Oops.... I don't think he meant to do that and he ended up being the antisemitic one. Another problem, some groups claim that they are allowed to practice in-group preferences (they are) but then those they allow to speak for them will claim other groups are not allowed to have in-group preferences and if they are over-represented in anything, counter oppression is warranted. The ADL is one of the worst offenders in this regard.

What caused the last period of rapid warming? It couldn't have been combustion engines and power plants... so what was it?
2
I think it's funny how the ADL will acknowledge these statistics but say it's due to inherent intellectual advantages. Meanwhile if other groups are over represented even by 1% they (The ADL) will blame it on in-group preferences and oppression and demand the scales be weighted.

@torontoenvironment9899 it certainly seems a bit tribal.

... yeah, Churchill never intentionally implemented Lysenkoism which murdered over 100 million people in honor of Party Ideology. Nor did he obfuscate it while it was happening... like the New York Times did. Try again. Venezuela is 'socialist' but not 'marxist'... oh, I'm gunna love this one. Please explain.

@christopherhitchens163 Marx believed socialism was the step that gets taken before the Utopia can be achieved. People have to be forced into it until the generation that just sees it as 'normal' is born. Is that wrong?
1
@christopherhitchens163 you want the cookie cutter "the people" owning the means of production leading to a global cooperative of people who lack self interest. The one that works perfectly until it collapses and becomes 'not real socialism'.... You act like we haven't watched this ideology fail miserably dozens of times in the last 100 years...
1
@christopherhitchens163 none. Because that doesn't make any sense. Doesn't mean it's not the bait that has let millions of myopic morons to their demise.

@christopherhitchens163 imagine there was an ideology that wanted... let's say, flying cars. And their these ideological leaders put people into cars and rolled them off cliffs... only for them to crash and burn every time. Each time they did, they said 'flying cars have never been tried' before rolling the next one off the cliff. Then someone from the ideology says 'flying cars have never really been tried before' as they shove you into a car, what would you say? You know these zealots have just murdered a bunch of people in mindless pursuit of flying cars... each time they maybe tape a feather to the tail pipe or rub some chicken blood on the engine, thinking it will work 'this time'. Do you accept their premise that flying cars have never really been tried and allow them to push you into the flaming abyss?
1
@christopherhitchens163 yeah.. what's a few million more murders between comrades. Might as well try it again!
1
I also wish he would have gotten into Lysenko and the results of his ideology... marxist intentionally murdering 100 million people... while the New York Times ran cover for them.

No Man's Skyrim sounds fun

If you did get reperations, how many years until you demanded more? Could we drop all the race Marxism stuff for like, 5 years? Might be worth it...
1
The people in charge of the West seem to hate it even more... as they are clearly trying to destroy it.
1
The American people have 'spoken' and apparently were trying it again. Good luck, guys.

... are you saying they have an in-group preference? Not that there is anything wrong with that of course, so long as all groups are allowed to have one. If a group (like the ADL) says it's perfectly acceptable for one group to have an in-group preference but if others do it, it's evil oppression... then I would say we have a problem.

@gloriarutman8516 when I called out Soros for his bad behavior, a Jewish friend called me Anti-semitic for bringing it up. He was obviously just attempting to shut me up and not have to deal with my argument by assigning a mental pathology to me... but by using this myopic tactic, he accidently made the implicit argument that Soros's bad behavior and semitism are inextricably linked. That the behavior and semitism are synonymous. Now... neither of us believed that. He was simply using a collectivist debate tactic he had picked up and wasn't smart enough to follow his own logic to its end... but I wonder how often people are accidently making these arguments in a attempt to strong-arm someone into silence. And those people end up believing their argument. I've had a similar conversation around circumcision. I was told that by opposing it (for non-jewish people) and saying that it was a medical conspiracy, I was engaged in 'antisemitism' ... once again, he accidently implied that not allowing non-jewish people to mutilate their infants genitals was oppressive to Jewish people... think that one through.

@agenttriplea1937 the Asians were fantastic cartographers, but substandard ship builders. Hence the inability to colonize the new world. Same with the Scandinavians. Well... they were both brilliant at building their specific ships, which weren't well suited for moving lots of people across ocean at once.

We needed less Karowak and more Pirsig...
