The original was better. They actually made corporate fan fiction based on YouTube fan fiction... God, these people are pathetic.

@gingeranagram2467 a different hemisphere? A different half of which sphere? The galaxy?

Way off topic, but I've become convienced that the Duffer Brothers are massively influenced by Lovecraft but won't admit it. The name 'Stanger Things' is pulled from a story called Pickman's Model, which actually does fit the story pretty well. Season 1 was Hounds of Tindalos. Season 2 was heavy on the Color out of Space Season 3 and 4 seemed to be a combination of The Dunwich Horror and Shadow over Innsmouth. I suspect Season 5 will be Call of Chuthulu. I know D&D was heavily inspired by Lovecraft, but they seem to be pulling pretty directly from Lovecraft and his friends' stories... and I think they don't want to admit it cause he was posthumously canceled. 11's story actually seems to be ripped from an episode of X-Files as well.

@grandspringdale1564 my head Canon was always that the Alien and Predator races were locked in an eons long conflict and some of the predators took a role sort of like an inoculation to spark the 'immune system' to evolve to be better warriors so they wouldn't fall to the xenomorphs. Basically, they sent a single predator to attack humans so they would recognize the seriousness of extraterrestrial threats, and evolve to stand against xenomorphs, who were expanding across the galaxy. I know it's probably nonsense, but it does kind of fill in some of the eccentricities of the Predators.

@Freefall347 well, we can assume since they called them 'feral' that they are somehow less civilized than the others. 'Feral' and 'capable of interstellar travel' seem to be a bit of a contradiction though. Although, I guess the some of the Sayans from DB were both feral and extraterrestrial, so maybe not entirely unprecedented.

@tektekken176 that would be the best movie in the series. The beaucracy of inter-planetary hunting licenses and one father who needs to help his son, Bobby, get a kill otherwise he won't become a man. I tell you what...

Some native tribes would start grass fires to drive entire herds of Buffalo off of cliffs. There is so much 'noble savage' hoax stuff involved in those stories. When the Europeans brought horses to natives, they were down right sadistic to them. They would make poor saddles that would tear up their sides and then they would leave them to die of infection and blood loss and then go steal more. The only reason the Buffalo isn't extinct is because of one white rancher who decided to breed them. One day a tribe came to him demanding Buffalo because their kids can't become men without killing one. The rancher gave the tribe a breeding pair and told them to return with them after a generation. The breeding pair made it about 100 feet before the tribe brutally killed them... stabbing them in the stomach and organs, ruining the meat. He refused to give them more after that.

I only caught glimpses of it, but do they ever actually explain why the alien that travels the stars was suddenly primitive and wearing a bone helmet, despite having much of the other tech... did his original helmet break and the super alien had to fix it with... bone... not metal, but bone... Seemed really dumb.

@Individual_Lives_Matter they already established that they've been coming to earth since Antarctica was green in Alien vs Predator, assuming that's still Canon. I would have been better if the 'feral predator' was on some sort of alien reality show like Alone...

@grandspringdale1564 really? I've never read them. I would love to see that though. It would definitely increase that antagonist's depth. Perhaps I heard that previously and didn't remember. I did go through a YouTube lore videos phase... for several years.
