@MultiKm1 grow anything with it? What needs to be grown? They can fund their own utilities with ease. They can open their own restaurants that will be more successful because they won't get robbed. They can open their own stores and actually prosecute theft. They can have their own judges that will enforce the law. What exactly won't they be able to afford that they could have afforded before?

@MultiKm1 but they were the ones providing most of the funding in the first place... if anything, they can now afford to fund twice the police force who will be able to actually pursue criminal cases. Same with the roads. I don't see it as a gamble at all. If anything, not separating, was the gamble.

What is going to be really funny is how much more productive St. George will be with their tax dollars... people are going to realize just how much money the Baton Rouge politicians were pocketing and giving to their buddies.

@attiepollard7847 that was the problem. They didn't want to work with these people and come to an agreement. They wanted to milk them for taxes while denying them what they wanted. So they walked away from the table. That's exactly what should happen because the alternative would be literal oppression. Not the "not giving me stuff is oppressing me" thing, but actual oppression.

@MultiKm1 maybe. But I doubt it. If that was the case, the Baton Rouge side wouldn't be so worried about it. I suppose time will tell all.
