  1. I think many students would take math more seriously if they could see it practically applied to their hobbies, like music or skateboarding or video games. I was good at math but never enjoyed it until I got one good teacher who was great at that. Math history is also important and fascinating, but I'm sure it would be considered racist by these people.

  2. My niece goes to a school with a bunch of Korean immigrants for some reason and has already taught herself basic Korean through them and those Korean students are already more literate than some of their 'other' classmates, if you catch my drift.
