Its because men have been forced to learn deep loyalty all throughout our ancestry, to the point where we knew how to splice our pack mentality with dogs and even cats tens of thousands of years ago. Studies show in the military during a deadly mission like catching osama, the heart rates of the soldiers synchronise. Men need to walk through the city ready to fight off mugger and dangerous people as opposed to screaming for help. We HAVE TO be able to know how and when to risk our own lives for the life or safety of our “teammates” or friends etc. in order for us to be greatest successful in military action, fire fighting, even organised crime. You need to be an expert at loyalty to be a top mafia member or gangster. (or you could be a tyrant.) I see absolutely no evolutionary reason why women should “need” any of these traits, and i believe that reflects in many of their relationships in the ways you are describing.

  2. Oh and family. Basically a good father has to be able to swallow his own life burdons AND his wifes, AND all of his kids. To the point where he can be driven to deliberately die for the safety of all of them. A mother can do that too, but generally the father falls into that area when the time arises.
