@redcoresuperstar Religion is the main argument. And its a 10,000+ year LONG project, an instruction manual for societies to function around. Thats all religions have ever been.

Hes stoned and confused lmao
63
@usernamelegend345 Joe debates about bears. Matt debates in colleges and received 300 MILLION VIEWS in the past week for his documentary, trending around the planet. And they ended up agreeing in the full podcast anyway lmao, joe just took 25 minutes to understand matts point
51
Because he doesn’t want to insult joes intelligence, or lack thereof. Nobody does. Joes awesome, Matt had the balls to take a loss
35
Stunned that joe didn’t get the answers
35
Yes. So you have a CIVIL UNION. Its just like marriage in every single sense, but you also show some respect to the sanctity and importance of marriage in terms of breeding. Keep the word marriage sacred and heterosexual, as it is currently crumbling and many people believe gay marriage is to blame.
29
Gay marriage conflicts with marriage.
27
@ZetsubenSama You are changing the definition of marriage in an entire country. This is the part where most people begin to think. You cant seem to get there.
27
Joe literally agrees with matt as of 6 weeks ago in a recent podcast though… Matt was right all along. Its just hard for some people who are emotionally driven to understand
25
@chewymustard6426 Yeah i do. You’re not free to change the definition of words like woman and marriage though. Thats anti human.
20
Not having kids is a moral dilemma, especially when ENCOURAGING THAT IDEA towards young adults. That is insane. Matt is more than allowed to have an opinion, and you’re just ignorant to the basis of his argument because you’re “so shocked.” You’re shocked because you’re biased and wilfully ignorant.
20
@chewymustard6426 No, they are free to pretend they are women and pretend they are married. Literally changing the definition however has nothing to do with anyones freedom, that’s a serious societal issue which needs to be addressed. Thank god we just barely managed to maintain the word woman as a culture. Lets not lose the actual important family oriented version of marriage forever.
18
@ZetsubenSama So we’ve switched 1 and 2 since 2013. Theres your societal impact. Thats a problem.
18
Yea you really can. You can see his point, especially when you consider the divorce rate was 2% 30 years ago, then we changed the definition for gays, now the divorce rate is ABOVE 50%. The problem is we CHANGED THE DEFINITION for other people, which mean every single child alive now is going to grow up with a skewed idea of what marriage is. Anything the family teaches is drowned out by politics, and “marriage is for raising children” is now a non answer. So now we have NO word for “the proper way to raise kids.” Because by definition NOW, marriage isn’t even necessary. Marriage is tainted and no longer sacred, even though it comes from a word meaning “pregnant mother.”
16
Imagine the divorce rate jumping from 2% 30 years ago to above 50% today and just pretending that’s fine
16
Joe agrees with matt these days
16
Matts just trying to explain his point on a simpler and simpler level and joe just couldn’t get it lol
15
But marriage is partially defined by procreation, even if you think its not. It has been for 5000 years straight across all cultures
14
She didn’t even address the people when she lost. She went home. Thats who you voted for lmfao?
14
@robinkeck9950 How is 20,000 years of human endeavour such a joke to you?
14
Matt Walsh produced one of the most successful documentaries of all time with over half a BILLION views and was trending in over 37 countries. The ratings were 5 star too, everyone tuned in to watch the FREAKSHOW
14
@ZetsubenSama People at encyclopaedia brittanica still include offspring in their definition and only mention a man and a woman.
13
For the sake of procreation.
13
Joe agrees with matt these days. And you say “outdated” but the modern version of marriage has a divorce rate of OVER 50% across the entire west, i.e. it doesn’t work. Children based marriage is the only reason anyone should get married because its the only one that has purpose.
13
Your marriage is meaningless, if its literally identical to just boyfriend girlfriend status.
12
@Druid75 You don’t even know what love is. You people think its sexual attraction lmfao
12
We all know why
12
“To me the definition…” Thats where you lost me, and i read your definition and it sounds like a ticking time bomb. What happens when you go through a rough patch after 10 years, which all people will? “I DONT EVEN KNOW WHY I MARRIED YOU IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!” Thats what happens. Thats why the divorce rate is above 50%. Thats why you should marry someone to have a child. You should already be growing together and loving eachother and sharing the load of your trials and tribulations BEFORE you get married. Then you have a child. If you want to do something different, what you need is a CIVIL UNION. Thats what gay people get, its identical to marriage in every way so NOBODYS FREEDOM IS TAKEN AWAY, but it doesn’t DESTROY real, natural marriage.
12
Childrens right to be born into a stable marriage are infringed on when we change the definition on a societal level.
11
Rogan agreed with walsh in a recent video posted 5 days ago. I posted the link in a recent comment if you want to watch
11
Marriage has its origins in the Latin word ‘matrimoniu’ meaning ‘mother’ and ‘the action, state or condition’. The word marriage literally means pregnant woman. Civil union has literally the exact same rights, but doesn’t require the vows or promises or proper family or children or anything. Thats what you want, a civil union. You don’t need to taint marriage like an idiot.
11
YouTube didn’t “fix it”, they blocked the video from reaching the trending charts which it should still be topping as we speak… Nowhere to be found. We still have to “type it in”
11
@caseyleo7299 No, religions exist as instruction manuals to societies. All successful civilisations on earth are founded on religious morality in all of human history. One part of all religious morality is the proper raising of children, it makes sense on a societal level so it becomes religious, but its religious because it makes sense. So removing the religion from USA marriage doesn’t remove the religious element or the deeply fundamentally moral and human element behind it which is the strong, monogamous, life long family that stays together to keep the lineage alive and ensure the kids thrive. That emerged across the human race independently. Thats absolutely a religious phenomenon.
11
@ColinClohesy Doing it for all those stupid reasons instead of as a binding agreement to have children, thats the problem.
11
@mikelombard21 No, his point is you can marry for whatever reason you want, but the divorce rate jumped from 2% 30 years ago to above 50% today BECAUSE we are marrying for whatever reason we want. You SHOULD only get married to have children because marriage is FREAKING DIFFICULT. You will generally divorce if you just marry someone because you like to pack their fudge. Its a waste of your money and your time, and you will have your heart broken.
10
They get those same exact benefits under a civil union. They can fight the system and get BETTER benefits under some new word for them. Just don’t hijack the word marriage like families are meaningless. Same as hijacking the word woman, it renders women meaningless.
9
@nikirick Its rare and only happens on some stoners podcast
9
@Kazanko28 And like matt said, its about societal impact. Two gays getting married doesn’t affect your marriage, it affects your childrens marriage. Societal impact. The next generation. It will matter less and less as time goes on, to the point where people will stop getting married. Thats idiotic of our culture. Marriage will reemerge later on assuming our culture survives at all.
9
Not one argument was an “appeal to authority.” Every argument was based on societal impact. Why are those two words so confusing to dumb people?
9
@eliecerquintero2646 Yeah sure, humans of all cultures and religions realised marriage is a foundation to civilisation and implemented it into their religions.
8
@rivvy2138 Looking at history is the best possible way to see what works. Its identical to science. Look at what worked in the past and expand upon it. You may lose an eye if you look back at history, but you will surely lose both eyes if you fail to look at all.
8
Then its up to society to mentally prepare children to one day become parents who have children.
8
Who kamala?
8
@hyunaglazer Yea why not
8
@AAAAAAAAAAAA-r3z The definition of marriage is literally to stay bonded for the sake of children
8
Joe was emotional and opinionated here. Matt isn’t homophobic here.
8
They weren’t mutilating kids in the middle ages. Ever heard of “wisdom”?
8
He agrees with matt now days, because he realised human rights isn’t the issue here
8
@chewymustard6426 I think same sex couples have the word civil union or they can produce a word with even BETTER rights for themself than marriage, just keep marriage sacred because natural children are an element.
7
boogers69420 They cant have kids. Thats where marriage comes in, starting a family.
