Talk about the madness of crowds - the West sure seems to have it bad - someone starts a narrative for whatever reason - and it just takes off and grows and becomes a new reality - like the Salem witch trials. Untill finally someone and then everyone "wakes up" and looks around and womders "what the heck was that all about?".
