Close but nope . The landing to retake the Philippines was large too.

I was wondering where the Russian air force has been for these 9 months. In The Iraq invasion the US first job is to get complete control of the air where the enemy cannot even go above ground during the day. Here you see Ukraine crews in a open fields during the day.

Tanks are sitting ducks once the other side controls the skies. Tank models will not matter to hellfire missiles .
1
Hitler declared war on the US.
1
@bumbyonline Not close to the scale of the US involvement . The US was the only allied country Japan Physically attacked. Even Germany never attack a US owed landmass. Japan never touch Australian or UK propper . .
1
fun fact. With drop tanks both the Corsair and Hellcat could go to Berlin in back also. Navy fighter had to have long range as a requirements for obvious reasons when flying off carriers over a Pacific ocean.
1
@jacktattis The Thunderbolt held up well in Europe and it had the same Wasp engine as the HellCat .
1
It was a un-accurate way to deliver only 1000 lbs of explosives. This video said 1800 lbs but it was not. The larger V2 was only 2000lbs The old Stuka carried 3000lbs in comparison .

The logistics were tuned into Yachts. Plus Russia is not a wealthy country with a GDP below Canada but playing world superpower at the same time. In the 1979-89 invasion of Afghanistan the USSR went bankrupt and fell over it. This invasion is much more costly.

China made Nukes in 1964. I think the US would have made nukes no matter what over time. Did a country really think once they made a nuke they could keep them to themselves forever?

The war was decided long before 1945 Dresden , Harris is burning in hell with Hitler and Stalin.
1
Great information video .
1
Dresden being bombed only 2 months before the war ended is impossible to justify.
1
@pnotuner1 The late bombing of Dresden sure did not speed up the Russian in kicking down the door of Hitler's bunker in Berlin. May as well have left the city untouch like they did for the last 5 years of the war.
1
We would be on WW4 by now if it was not for nukes.
1
Dresden was like 300 V1s hitting the city all at once.
1
@DanLetts97 This was 2 months before the war ended and all the other German cities were already bombed to rubble a long time ago. The total bomb load on london for the entire war was one days bomb load over Germany in 1945.
1
What happen to article 5 of Nato. A attack on one is a attack on all. Britain was a Nato member and their land was invaded.
1
And Russia stole it to. The US made the A-Bomb so this is really a downgrade to the US in WW2
1
It was a old footage video. One Ohio class sub can take out every major city in Russia and China from 10,000 km away while submerged. We would be fighting WW4 by now if it was not for M.A.D .
1
Once the Russians won at Kursk in 1943 , the Russians were on a unstoppable march to Berlin even if D-Day never took place. We could have just closed the war room and got out the popcorn and watched the rest.
1
It was lucky to hit the city let alone the port inside the city.
1
I don't think the 3rd world was ever sailing over to Britain to steal back their assets.
1
Great Video I never under stood why Churchill lost . Out of the Big 3 winners Britain was the only country worse off after the war ,compared to before the war. The US got out of the prewar Depression and Russia became a superpower with control of all Eastern Europe and East Germany.
1
Even before the war it was well know the US had the largest industrial capacity in the world in the 1930s. Henry Ford's " River Rouge complex" built in 1920 out produced Germany's and England's entire automotive industry. Now you add General Motors, Dodge ,Studebaker and Hudson factories .
