My thinking was if one EU member has nukes (France) than that means all EU members have nukes. Plan B would be NATO if the EU membership fails.

  5. Not sure the suez Canal mattered Even if Germany took Egypt ,the would never have control of the Mediterranean sea to ship oil back to Germany. Britain would just get everything it needed from North America instead via North Atlantic.

  10. In 1940 the Middle East was not a major oil supplier. The US was the largest oil producer followed by Russia. Italy owned Libya and did not even know it was loaded with oil until 15 years after the war was over in 1960.
