Did not matter . Even if the US had no navy at all in 1941, once war production took hold the US was building the largest Navy and Airforce in the world by mid 1943 no matter what.

MacArthur and his family escaped by PT boat not by air. How can you get that wrong? Good grief.

@f430ferrari5 The US factories were in the East like , New York, Cleveland, Michigan , Baltimore. Japan had no bombers that could reach California from Hawaii and back. Japan Sure did not have the manpower to land on US shores. It took years to plan D-Day and that was with air superiority and just a 50 mile crossing. The US land Air force always outnumbered the Japanese Navy air force. Once the US was in war production mode it just left Japan behind and never looked back.

@f430ferrari5 The US main land air power would over power any carrier based air power. Even the Germans could not invade Britain over a 30 mile Channel. How was Japan going to invade California over thousands of miles? Products are sent by rail when shipped west not by sea. Japan was a small country of 70 million in 1940 the US had 130 million people. Japan was already tied up in China, Korea and the Philippines.

@ymaizosz Make sense. Hawaii was too far off to maintain. Japan wanted a tighter defensive ring than that I would imagine.

We have to admit the US beat Japan pretty badly. It,s was what it was.
4
@f430ferrari5 Unlike a air base in the Philippines. A Airbase in California would be re equipped rather easily. While the Japanese would have to ship everything from thousands of miles away. At no point was Japan in a situation to land and stay anywhere on North America.

@tonyromano6220 Lots of bad luck. They sent out bunch of scout planes and only the one that covered where the American fleet was broke down and took off hours late.

2 out of every 5 torpedoes worked. Those were the lucky two I guess.
2
I thought he left by boat also not a plane.
2
@leojablonski2309 There would be South Korea today if it was not for MacArthur's north west shore landing plan that nobody believed in, North Korea was taking over South Korea.
2
@f430ferrari5 I'm sure the US had air force bases in Hawaii and the Philippines but not on the mainland.
2
@f430ferrari5 Just dealing with hundred of thousands of armed civilians in California would be trouble for Japan. It would not be like dealing with unarmed peasants in the China invasion.

@mikerice5298 Nukes stopped that economic planning. Today we just print money faster until the depression is over, like in 2008.

Mark makes his videos. These are reruns of one hour TV series documentaries. That's why they are 50 min long the TV commercials are edit out.
1
They had land with no resources, especially oil.
1
MAD as prevented it for 60 years. No country is suicidal.
1
German kids will have to go to mosques very soon.
1
Did not matter about those 3 carries. The US built 16 more large fleet carriers in the next two years.
1
Hawaii and the South Pacific has a winter?
1
WW2 ended the depression in the US. Thanks Britain.
1
@sylvesterstewart868 When did you think the depression ended?
1
Can you imagine that? The US with a population of 132 million being invaded by a county with a population of 73 million that's already occupied with China and Korea already. D-Day land in LA and push across to NY . Good luck.
1
They are all reruns from old WW2 TV documentaries. This youtube channel does not make them.
