  2. Why? Germany did there best to beat Britain during the "Battle of Britain" but failed. During the Battle of Britain. Russia was basically allied with Germany and supplying them with raw resources. A "Battle of Britain part 2" was not going to do any better. Britain was producing more fighter planes at the end of the Battle of Britain. A one on one Britain and Germany would have been one long stalemate. Neither could invade the other.

  3. The worst one for me is when I hear , "The Germans were going to take over the world". How was a country with only 70 million people going to take over the world? The US alone had twice Germany's population and 4 times their manufacturing capacity.

You Just do not hand half of Japan over to Stalin who is a new arrival. Especially after you fought Japan for 3 years and sunk its navy and merchant fleet and have if blockaded by sea and air and on its knees ,just because your tired of war.

  9. Profit? Britain was bankrupt and lost its empire after the war ,they did their last war debt payment in 2006. Germany ,Japan ,Poland ,and Russia were in rubble after the war. Only the US ,Canada and Australia were better off after the war then they were before the war. At Least it ended the Great Depression.

  15. The allies did not hand over eastern Europe to Stalin. Stalin rolled over it with 6 million soldiers on his way to Berlin and just made a new western Russian border. Nobody was in the mood for another long war with Russia. Especially the American people who still had Japan going on.
