  2.  @clangerbasher  Canada only lost 45,000 soldiers and tripled its economy during the war. The US , Russia and Canada where the only countries that were stronger at the end of the war then they were at the start.

  6.  VoltigeurFR  200,000 is not a lot in the grand scheme of things. Getting a seat at the surrender was generous of the US ,UK and Russia. France lost 215,000 soldiers in ww2 the US lost 500,000 and was a country 4000 miles away.

  8.  @clangerbasher  Canada had more troops than France in ww2. Before D-Day the Free French only had 100,000 soldiers. Canada had 1.1 million.

  10. Did not know so many French wanted to be communist after the war. Should have canceled D-Day and let Stalin liberate France like Poland.
