In Canada we have 6 Nuclear power plants that were built in 1970 that never had a problem. The Bruce generating station is the largest operating nuclear power plant in the world. You would think a modern 2023 Nuclear plant would be even safer.

Russia has a GDP slightly above Spain. Russia is a Nuclear super power but far from a economic superpower.

True Britain occupied Ireland for 900 years and most Irish all speak English, but they sure are not joining Britain again.

@TheThirstyOtter When I get pulled over next time for a traffic stop I will try your logic . I did not stop and pull over because I do not trust police trying to pull me over .
16
Short Version , system is overwhelmed and easily abused. "Irregular economic immigrants " Like callin a Home burglar is a "Irregular House Guest." Good Grief. 🙄

@walrustrent2001 I find 2023 cars, TVs, Computers and everything else today are built smarter and better than in 1970 . Why can't a 2030 power plant be better than a 1970 power plant?

@madselmvig1457 What I do not get is , does being in the EU provide protection like being in Nato? Would the EU allow a EU member to be invaded if that member was not a Nato member? What would be the difference?
4
@CapriciousStoic2 Nice. I hate when people bring up the Japan accident. Japan putting a power plant on a earthquake faultline next to a Ocean was odd. Europe has no earthquakes , like Canada and not alot of Ocean shoreline for a tidal wave to hit shore. There is a reason France does not have their power plants on the beaches of Normandy.
4
@firstone3289 Russia is a Nuclear super power only. Without Nukes Russia has less than half the population of the US with a economy 15X smaller . The EU has 400 million more people with a GDP 10X larger.Also.
4
Join the EU with a 15 trillion economy or Russia with a 1.5 trillion economy? Tough decision.

The EU has 400 million more people and a economy 10Xs larger than Russia . Does the EU even need Nato help with russia anymore?
4
@enriquethinius2472 Unlike Japan in Canada we do not build power plants on earthquake fault lines next to the ocean where a tidal wave can come in.
3
@gabenewell3955 Canada has only 37 million people and a larger economy than 147 million Russia, and Both are natural resource based economies. Russia has a 61$ billion military budget ,the EU military budget is 192 billion. Without nukes Russia is not a world stage player, like China ,the US and EU , not even close.
3
@uragan991 Maybe. France is the only EU member that can destroy Russia with nukes. Question is how dedicated are they to the cause? Any country living in marching distance from Russia and China without nukes is living on blind faith.

2
Whats wrong with a EU army? Basically Nato without North America.
2
@SionTJobbins Worst yet Russia has a GDP well below Canada and Canada only has 37 million people not 147 million like Russia.

The CCP and the new dictator Putin is the new way to go.

@uragan991 No foreign military in Ukraine and Russia not invading seems like a very simple solution. What's everyone's problem? A Ohio class sub can take out any russian city from 10,000km away , they do not need to be near Russia.
2
@vasopel I'm sure South Korea will have a good safety record with their new largest reactor like Canada has for the last 50 years.
1
3 EU members on their own have a higher GDP than Russia.
1
EU decided to convert to Islam and North America stepped back.
1
Fun fact. Spain's GDP is just below Russia's GDP today.
1
Britain control Ireland for 900 years until they no longer did. Same thing between Russia and Ukraine.
1
They wonder why they are unemployed because they assault the teachers who try to teach them the language used in France . like moving to China finding a job in China without understanding the Chinese language .
1
@stellastenkova1082 So when does Russia do the economic powerhouse turn around? Because right now they have a GDP below Canada and Brazil.
1
@klausklaus9112 I like comparing Canada larger GDP to Russia because both countries have the same Natural Resource based economy. And smaller Canada does it with 37 million people while Russia has 147 million.
1
@klausklaus9112 Russia has no debt? They have a 60 billion dollar Military budget with a GDP just above Spain. Yes they have debt. Can't fool math buddy.
1
@klausklaus9112 GDP does not matter? That's like saying household income does not matter. Good Grief, hope you don't do the fanancies at your home.
1
The war ended the depression in America. It was good news.
1
@solaroid4442 I Looked it up the EU military budget is 190 billion while Russia is 61 billion. Both France and Germany spend 52 billion "Each". Russia is very out spent.
1
@solaroid4442 You right ,when you look up EU military spending they just added up each members military budget. I was surprised Germany and France spend the same and are both not far behind Russia. But both France and Germany have much larger economy than Russia and do not feel the expense as much as Russia. Even Canada with a larger GDP than Russia could out spend Russia if it was their thing. Putin playing like it is in the economic league with China, USA and EU is only going to hurt the Russia people.
1
@mo9620 I looked it up Both Germany and France have a $52 billion military budget each. Russia has $61 billion and a much smaller economy, Europe has the upper hand.
1
@mo9620 Here is a Russia girl in a grocery store comparing prices and converting the prices to US dollar. The prices are almost the same. Russian do not pay less. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7xnWDrB53o&list=TLPQMjEwMTIwMjLeHQgBLTNJ7w&index=3
1
@mo9620 What I was getting at is people think cost of living in Russia is cheaper. Its not. I,m from Canada we are freaking at $1.50 a litre gas. 2 Euros a liter works out to $3 a litre Canadian. Wow how do you people afford to drive?
1
@jamesmartello1 No two currency is the same that's why they have a thing called a "Currency Exchange". After 'EXCHANGE" the US dollar and Russia ruble buy almost the same in a Russian grocery store . The girl even does the exchange rate conversion to make it simpler for her viewers to understand. You think 1 ruble =$1 US? No it's $1 US = 0.013 Rubles Example. If a given object in Russia cost 1000 rubles and the same object in the US cost $13 US there is no (PPP) advantage. PPP comes into play if that 1000 Ruble object cost $50 US. It's really not that hard to understand.
1
@jamesmartello1 Sorry I type it backwards. 1 Ruble = 0.013 US. You better check yours too because that is very wrong
1
@uragan991 You mean being a EU member is not the same as a Nato member? Is the EU policy to do nothing if a EU country was invaded?
1
You mean in a normal situation the driver gets out of the car when the police tells them to . But this is not a normal driver he steps on the gas and says no thanks I will be going on my merry way instead.
