  2. In both wars the U.S came out better off than going in. Unlike Britain which came out of both wars weaker and poorer at the end of the wars.

The US could just get rich selling material to Europe for their war without sending any troops.  I do not think the Americans though Germany was ever going to storm the beaches of New York City any time in the future.  Same goes with ww2. Britain declares war to save Poland and at the end Poland is took over by Stalin anyways, "Mission unaccomplished" to say the least.
