@msk3905 His insurance company is odd . I live in Canada and was in a car crash that was (my fault) and my insurance rates return to normal after 3 years .

How do these things work winter? Batteries lose efficiency in cold temp. Now the battery has to electric heat the car interior and operate fans to defrost windows. Would the already dismal road range not even be worst in winter?

@peterhammer4644 Yes it is a 10 min drive to work and to a mall. I get 6.8L/100km ,Fuel here in $1.45/L $100 gets you $650km range. I ,m not a Uber or Skip driver .

@123abcter I live in Canada and get stuck in traffic, my guess is EV is 3% of the traffic. A EV suv is $15k more than the gas version of that suv. You can by a lot of gas for $15k Canada is big country people do long road trips. A half hour recharge stop every 200 km would suck , compared to a 10min gas refill and your good for 600 km .

@123abcter The worst that the rough road can do is wreck a muffler or oil pan on a gas car. Both is not $60k to fix . A entire gas engine is not $60k to replace .

$60K in Canada bought me a new Ford 2022 F-150 XLT 4 door 4wd truck! $60k for a battery for a small suv grocery getter? The gas version of that suv is $20K cheaper. Your never going to save $20k in gas to make up the extra cost . In 5 years time what is a Used EV worth as a trade in with a 5 year old battery in it?
