Let the Russians lose 200,000 street to street fighting for a bombed out city just as the war was ending. Great plan.

"Soviet Storm" is the best Russian ww2 series ever. All 50 min episodes. You're not learning much in 15 min no matter how well put together it is.

@stellviahohenheim If they do not have the attention span for a proper one hour history documentary video they sure will not read a book. 😆
40
When you compare South Korea with Vietnam maybe the US winning would have been better? Living under a communist Regime really must suck.
21
Wait until the virus ends.
20
Italy owned Libya before the war and nobody knew Libya had oil until 1959. Crazy.
15
It was Steiner's fault the war was lost.
13
After the French treaty of Versailles the Germans had to do a lot of starving, payback is a beach.
12
True. Berlin could have been blockaded until they starved to death. Why lose 200,000 in street rubble fighting a week before the war was over?
8
@scuevas1 Stalin purged his experienced officers and order the no retreat orders that encircled millions of Russians troops. Stalin also did not allow the evacuation of Leningrad and Stalingrad of civilians ,thinking the soldiers would fight harder. He starved 7 million Ukraine in the 1930s and killed 20,000 Polish officers in a forest. Millions of Russians died in the Gulags His head of security was a known child rapist. Yes Stalin was a sick Monster.
8
@543soldier The Russian Navy was a joke and had no landing crafts, how can they even get to Japan? That crossing is much wider than the english channel of D-Day.
8
By 1945 the US had mainland Japan blockaded by sea and air and under constant bombing. Isolated Japanese soldiers in far off Manchuria did not matter at this point. They would just wither on the vine.
6
Not a hot topic in Japan schools "How we got are asses kick hard in WW2" I can see them keeping that low.
6
120,000 french were evacuated from Dunkirk.
5
You mean Russia's "Operation Bagration" only 2 weeks later and larger in scale.
5
And the Red Army took all of Poland at the end of the war.
5
Fun fact- Before the War Italy own/controlled what is now Libya. Nobody knew Libya had lots of oil until 1959 that was 14 years after the war.
5
abe Lincoln Belin was in the Russian part of East Germany with the city was agreed to be split well before the war ended, and thats what happened. Who took the city did not change that.
5
@proudtitanicdenier4300 Berlin fate was decided Yalta in February 1945. Berlin was in Russian East Germany and the city to be split. That's how it turned out no matter who took the city.

They would just wither on the vine. Russia had no way of even landing on mainland Japan, like the Germans could not land on Britain in 1940.
4
@brokenbridge6316 The Russian never had landing crafts and definitely not out in south east Russia. Also the US blockade of mainland Japan worked both ways , nothing was getting in or out. The US did not build the largest Navy in the world and fight Japan for 3 years to its knees ,to share Japan with late comer Stalin.
4
Moscow did not matter, the war factories were move east of the Ural mountains. Germany was a country of 70 million fighting the USSR a country of 170 million in 1940.
4
@erikeriks And Africa is doing awesome on their own two feet today. lol
4
@saucebloks5243 Its on Youtube. Type "Soviet Storm " In the search bar. I think there are 18 episodes. Your in for a treat. The one about Operation Bagrations is great. Episode 11 .
4
It's amazing "Bagration " is not mention even more than smaller D-Day? It was just 2 weeks after D-Day and larger in scale manpower wise. After Bagration the Russians were on a non stop dash to Berlin even if D-Day never happened or even if Britain and the US pulled out of the war at this stage.
4
Germany was also a country of only 70 million in 1940. The US (Alone) had 130 million people and a manufacturing capacity of 3 Germany's. Now add the UK. Even the fall of Russia would not have mattered. B29s and A-Bombs were coming.
4
You Tube thinks we will all join the Nazis if we see a swastika.

4
If poor 40 million people Ukraine right next door can hold off Russia , I thinkt rich 80 million people Germany that's far away easily can. Russia would run out of food and fuel just to reach Germany. You don't need a great military to fight a poor military.
3
@brokenbridge6316 The US had the A-Bomb and Russia was not getting the bomb for another 4 years. Russia was in ruins and lost 24 million people.the US was untouched and lost 500,000 people and just warming up. Stalin was not touching Japan without the US permission.
3
@UserName-om6ft Even if Germany was doing ok in 1945 .the allies had complete air superiority over Germany since 1944. Without Russia's help B-29s with A-bombs from England would have ended the war in Germany eventually ,without needing a D-Day. People do not realized what a game changer Nuclear weapon were.
3
@UserName-om6ft Even without allies the US had a population of 130 million compared to Germany's 80 million.in 1940 The US has 3Xs the manufacturing capacity of Germany. The most interesting thing about WW2 is it taking as long as 5 years to beat Germany with so many countries against them.
3
Japan surrendered after the 2nd atomic bomb. By 1945 the US had mainland Japan blockaded by sea and air and under constant bombing. Isolated Japanese soldiers in far off Manchuria did not matter at this point. They would just wither on the vine.
3
Also the M24 Chaffee
3
There was a ad? Youtube without adblock , that must hurt? Have not seen a commercial on YT in 5 years.
3
To be fair the entire Middle East never seems to calm down. The "Religion above all else" thing seems to be the common denominator.
3
The Russians had 6 million troops on a unstoppable march to Berlin even if D-Day did not take place. What happened or not in the west front was not changing that.
3
The EU has a economy 12Xs larger than Russia and 300 million more people. The EU should handle Russia on their own.
3
Germany is a guilt ridden snowflake today.
3
When we removed Germany's pair and replaced them with a pussy in 1945 we may have overreacted.
3
That was 12 years later in 2003.
2
@illerac84 Leave them alone so they can regroup in peace and harmony. LOL
2
Twice? It was 3 times. 1-Germany invades West Poland in 1939 2-Russia 2 weeks later takes East Poland 3- Russia takes all Poland at wars end.
2
The US without help had 1/3rd more people than Germany and 3 times Germany's manufacturing capacity. North American would not have noticed and just dumped supplies to fortress Island Britain until the A-Bomb was invented.
2
If you look up Russia's "Operation Bagration" 2 week later it really did not even matter if D-Day took place. The Russians killed (Army Group Center) and were going to Berlin no matter what.
2
The 2022 new Hitler has Belarus ,Syria and India on his side.
2
Pre muslim Sweden sure was different.
2
.It's criminal that "D-Day" is talked about all the time even when "Bagration" was only 2 weeks later and larger in scale.
2
France surrendered well before Paris was endanger.
