Afghanistan was invaded by Russia from 1979-1989 and they made it to expensive for Russia to stay. Taking a country is the easy part, occupying 40 million people that hate you is the hard part. Britain found that out in Ireland and the US in Iraq.

  32. Before the war and sanctions Russia had a GDP just above Spain and below Canada. Russia never was a economic superpower . When I was in Cuba in Feb the resort staff would not take Russian money only US ,Canadian and Euros . I hangout with some Russia tourists.

  35. Germany will not trust Russia again. Germany best bet is to just builds more LNG Import Terminals, so it has a wider selection of supplies to choose from. Canada needs to build Export LNG terminals to help Europe.

China has more cars than the US+Canada have people today. Even if all their 360 million cars were electric its a environmental mess.

  50. Western Sanctions is what collapsed the old white Apartheid South Africa government . Cuba and North Korea also backed Russia. Even China distanced itself from madman Putin in the UN vote. Russia can't help itself let alone South Africa now.
