Look at what was involved in D-Day just crossing the 20 mile English Channel with Air superiority . How do you invade North America crossing a 2,000 mile Ocean with the largest Navy and Airforce waiting for you?

It did not matter if the US lost at Midway. The US industrial strength was alway going to have a much larger Navy than Japan . The US has 3 large fleet carriers during Midway. 2 years later the US has 28 large Carriers and 70 smaller escort carriers. If Japan sank 3 US ships to ever one of their own ships , japan would have lost all there ships well before the US. WW2 was simple math .

Look how hard D-Day was crossing 20 miles of the English Channel with air superiority. How was Japan crossing 3,000 miles of Ocean and getting through the US Navy and airforce?

Over 2 years after invading Ukraine we know how good Russia's military says it is, is different from how good it actually is .

@yoseipilot Two years after Midway is June 1944. In 1944 the US out produced Japan and Germany combined in every thing. . By 1944 the US had the largest Navy in the world easily. By 1944 80% of the US navy ships were not built during the battle of midway . Japan Had no opportunities but to wait for the US War Production out produce Japan 6 to 1 in every thing by 1944. Japan lost the war on its way to Pearl harbor .

Not sure of the point of it. In 1960 they had the submarine launched "UGM-27 Polaris" ICBM. It launch from 50 ft under water and traveled at 6000 mph to orbit and once in orbit it went 15,000 mph before releasing it H-Bomb warhead. The Polaris was a submarine for 50 ft of underwater travel at launch.

More like Too late. Even with many 262 , by this stage Russia and the US each on their own had more of everything than Germany.

By then the US had good radar and the largest airforce in the world . How many Japanese or German slow bombers would even make it to land before being shot down ? None would make it back for sure .

Ieve without Jets . At this stage of the war even unlimited available 262 was not stopping Russia's 6 million man ground advance to Berlin.

Nearly won the war? By 1944 Russia was on a unstoppable advance to downtown Berlin. 1000 F-16s could not stop 6 million Russia on the move at that point of the war.

Back when the Canadian government cared what something cost.

Russia can't finnish invading a poor country on their border after 2 years but they will invade a superpower thousands of miles over seas ? Russia only has 140 million people and a GDP below Canada . The US has 330 million people and a GDP 12X larger than Canada.

@napolean_ragland They did by late 1943 Germany never had the strength to invade North America by then .
