From the start of this war, 2 weeks ago, Israel said they'd change the landscape of Gaza (& the ME) forever. Devastating words to address a devasting act of violence. If this had happened in the US (or EU) the reaction would be the same - people demanding a retaliatory (violent) solution. But, because it's Israel, violence being a daily risk, they're expected to go so far then lay down like doormats. It's crazy for any nation to expect or demand this from another, esp in cases of horrendous extreme violence. I'm on the side of peace, everywhere, but when a nasty neighbor bashes down your door & punches you in the f@ce behind the walls of your own home, anything can happen. That's just the way it is.
(For decades, ME-Israeli conflicts went ineptly or insufficiently addressed, long-term, by the US & Europe. Who cry the loudest about it - while fanning ME hostilities for self-gain.๐ฐ And now the world is seeing the results of the ignorance & greed, sadly. So, do both butt out? Because they've done enough damage? Or do they help fix the damage, because they largely created it? ๐ค

ย @settame1ย Many millennials don't want to succeed. At least in realistic ways that help ensure future security. Choose to live on a bus, & struggle, making pottery to sell, like millions of other competitive millennials - then blame older generations who told them it would be difficult to live doing that. Yes, blame older experienced generations for millennial's lack of consideration, common sense & financial education. It's getting old.
(And those who do make good money often excessively spend more money on ever revolving latest tech gadgets, vegan foods, tattoos, organic linen clothing, expensive city/urban living, overpriced Amazon crap they can buy locally but too lazy to shop. No, it's not fair to lump all millennials under such a broad paintbrush, but since so many enjoy doing this to other generations, so be it.)

Garlic & onions are recycled as medicinal, probably because they do have some antibiotic properties if you routinely eat enough of them. Many medicines are plant based so it makes sense. Plus they're delicious, if you like well-seasoned food.
I've tried a few "diet" programs over the years to lose weight & lower dangerous blood sugars & can truly say ketogenic eating is the only thing that worked for me long-term. It's simply common sense stuff, much like the Mediterranean Diet: little to zero sweets, sugar, manufactured & store-baked goodies, chips & junk food; very limited whole grain breads, pasta; white potatoes - if any at all. Zero low-nutrition high-sugar fruits, grains & corn; man-made oil blends. Or processed foods & food substitutes. (eg processed cheese block) Pretty much everything you eat is cooked from scratch. You do eat moderate amounts of animal & fish protein; eggs, dairy, goat & sheep cheeses. And lots of leafy greens & vegetables; cooked cruciferous vegetables, berries of all kinds, nuts. And maybe very small amounts of minimally processed "ancient grains" if you like. (I eat zero, aside from oatmeal occasionally. And zero rice. I substitute cooked cauliflower instead & it's always amazing topped with stews & curries.) They important thing is packing as much natural nutrition into your meals as possible. Most processed foods have little to offer anymore, in that regard. It's a garbage base of various non-nutritious flours, sugars, bad fats & oils with flavorings & salt added. Read the ingredients & you'll see.
(I dropped my blood sugar levels from a dangerous pre-diabetic 135+ range to a steady 88-93 range & lost 50 Lbs, over a 2+ year period. But most of it happened the first year & a half. I find keto very easy to do because I'm not hungry all of the time. Sugars & processed carbs just make you crave more. Alcohol too, stopped drinking it 5 years ago. The insanity of processed food addiction is real.)

Grocery stores are also manipulating prices to move inventory. They either price their overstocked items lower than other brands, to sell it. Or, they delay restocking shelves to force customers to pay higher prices for what's available on the shelves. I tend to go without or just shop elsewhere. But this week I overheard another shopper snapping at her upset husband/BF, "I know, the price is absurd! But, just put it in the basket - I'm too tired to go to another store tonight!" Sadly, this is why stores may get away with price gouging. You have to be very shrewd now, if you want to eat & still be able to pay your bills. I don't know how families with kids to feed are managing it.
(Price hike expls: Our local "lower budget" grocery store chain (F.L.๐ฆ) is selling one dozen basic generic white eggs for $4.19 - up 300% since last year. Astounding. Fatty 75% lean ground beef is approx $7.00 Lb. - up $2.50 per Lb. Rye bread nearing $5.00 per loaf - some brands $6.50. Coffee is up at least $1.50 per 12oz bag, most brands. A quart of plain yogurt up $1.50 per container. Popular lower cost pet food, if you can find it, up 20-40ยข per small can - & it may make your pet sick with stomach issues.)

ย @bravojrย Afraid it's hard for me to relate to your situation completely, agree. I didn't say paying down/off debt is easy. It's not, I know. My generation (X) was different re money mgmt & carrying debt - many of us simply didn't. We were raised under hard knocks attitude parents, sink or swim, or end up on the street. Don't come crying to us after age 18 - get out & get a job - period. And we did. And there was little to no immediate welfare assistance for us to live on if we got into trouble. In fact, it was shameful to apply. In my early 20's, working a low wage job & living alone, I went hungry weeks at a time. It was either eat or pay rent & gas for my car - no joke, one dollar away from being on the street. Didn't even know I could apply for food stamps. This was typical life for young people on their own. So many of my generation became money hoarders & cheap spenders out of sheer fear. And still deny ourselves many of life's nice things. Esp if we grew up in low income working families, constantly one mortgage payment away from homelessness. In my 50's I still live with that cloud of possible poverty & homelessness over my head. And why it concerns me seeing young people have so much more material stuff, gadgets, nice homes, etc., than I had at their age. Even now, actually. And I'm very happy for them :) But when they lament about the debt that comes with attaining & maintaining these things, I shake my head. Esp when the same "kids" mock my generation for being uptight & uncool about life & economics. There's a good reason for it, believe me. But unless you've been through seriously tough times, it's hard to relate. I get it.

@TRAVEL RS14 When "Sept" happened we were a calm, happy & fairly peaceful country - meaning, oblivios & naive. But at least we weren't brawling each other in the streets, like now. People who do awful things don't care whether we're getting along or not, they strike when it's most expedient for them. That said, I do agree that the current focus on civil unrest unfolding now is prime striking time for trouble. The problem is that the current incoming admin may be the ones fully responsible for allowing it. So, do we stand by & let it happen again, if that's what they intend? Because God knows CV is no longer an accepted excuse to keep people supressed. Regardless, anything can & will be used as an excuse for martial law & punishment of innocent people. How many are willing to gamble our country away under such awful compromise? It's not an easy question to answer with certainty right now. And that's what makes things so precarious, the unknown & feeling of lack of control over one's life. Also, the US cannot "re-set" to what it never was. It can only be fundamentally torn apart & rebuilt into something else. So far the interior of the building as been gu*ted. How many are going to join to block the parked wrecking ball? The visual joke is now reality.)

No, no fear of damnation. But I know people who do fear it - because they've done awful things to others & they're terrified of spiritual retribution.
(And maybe they should be. "Purgatory" exists, it's a very strange in-between state of existence. Both warm & beautiful with amazing glowing light, but also troubling, dark & foreboding. You may also briefly meet the dead here, including strangers asking for your help. Whether it's just the ramblings of a dying brain, or not, your life isn't the same afterwards. And not necessarily for the better. Your eyes are opened to bad things you never noticed before & equally troubling new experiences you can't quite explain. Interestingly, when comparing notes, these things are a universal commonality for people who've teetered on the edge but didn't go over. You really do believe you're nuts, at first, then slowly you realize there is actually another side of existence, outside of your earthbound bodily existence. And fear is no more.)

How much of his seen behavior is genuinely in the moment & how much is carefully released for political expedience? Both are bad but the latter is worse. What nation, with half a brain, publicly presents their leader as sick, disabled, weak & failing? It's not just distracting & dangerous, it's plain stoopid. And moot. Because the lack of a solid replacement candidate reeks of another arrogant 2020 "grab" in 2024. Luckily today's theater is advance notice to take action to never let it happen again. We now know who the players were, are; the traitors, their tactics, strategies & weaknesses. We're being gifted a clear warning & have only ourselves to blame if there's a repeat performance. (Also, absolutely take note of the RHINOs who voted for the infrastructure bill this week. For November. ๐ Despite everything, don't give up on the โโ๏ธ ๐บ๐ธ process.

Trump appears to be doing the more classic "political" campaign stuff this time. It plays to traditional Presidential race watchers & voters but to his core supporters it might appear disingenuous. He s/b careful to not over-compromise his sincerity in lieu of votes. He won't lose his core supporters, doing the "baby-kissing" or PC stuff, but voters are so utterly disgusted with politics now that they may tune-out up until election night. And this could diminish Trump's campaign flow energy.
Trump builds rapport & trust thru his unique direct way. He should apply the same to sincerely connecting with rational disappointed fed-up Democrats ready to jump ship, without blame or judgement. This will require conservatives to give a little on Trump's social programs & goals. And trust he has support plans for those who truly need it not based on draining American's bank accounts. The US supports all Americans - not just conservatives & moderates. This does NOT mean backing violent radical leftists. They are a huge reason why Americans are at each other's throats. Republicans, Democrats, moderates & independents need to rally & stop financially feeding these life-sucking anti-American troublemakers. They selfishly take from & destroy everyone & everything around them, regardless of their victim's American political affiliation. Ask any sane & fed-up reasonable liberal, miserably trapped living on the west coast with these radicals, unable to leave. Yes, they willingly let them into their communities & political offices - now they're stuck with them. The rest of the country too. But jeering & blaming them for their ignorance won't fix the problem. They'll just be trampled-out under the spread of socialist bullying until the majority of the US looks like their n'hood wastelands.
(And Trump s/b careful how he phrases cleaning up DC. While he did a magnificent job boosting America back to being a #1 world player, he wasn't able to address some of the worst swamp monsters. Those who immediately dismantled & destroyed our world credibility & people's futures the day their leaders strutted back into Washington like dictators, with their menacing scowls & black coats. We can't allow this horror show again. They're endangering our safety & country. We cut Trump a break because we understood he couldn't do it all alone. So this time he needs to surround himself with absolute loyal resolute people who believe in America. And not traitor Pence trade-offs sprinkled throughout his cabinet. It's a lot to ask but if anyone can manage it, it's Trump & a solid dedicated pro-Constitutional pro-America Hill that voters must put in place. The damage the DC socialists have done to nearly everyone in the US in only 3 years is astounding & criminal. Every time they're in office the US weakens & erodes closer to collapse, because of these ignorant voters & politicians.)

ย Clarence Spangleย
"The Clarence Spangler Banter"
Oh, say, can you be? Hi, the Spawn's early smite.
What so loudly we hailed, at the twit's last reaming;
Whose broad gripes and fight scars, through the perilous fight,
O'er the videos we watched, were so gallantly streaming.
And the mocker's red glare, the mob's bursting despair,
Gave proof through the night, that the Drag was still there:
Oh, say, does that C.Spangler banter yet waiver?
O'er the land of the free, and the home of our savior... ๐๐บ๐ธ

Jean Claude Pierre, press queen, claims plenty of Federal help is available & on sight. But she doesn't say how much aid money has been given or where federal on-ground help is today. Meanwhile, locals are saying they haven't seen any FEMA people or aid offers - zero, zilch, nothing. These press "reporters" should corner her - which towns, specifically, have FEMA people on the ground right this moment? Then confirm whether it's true or not. (I'll call BS ahead of time.)
Also, there was little if any pre-planning or readiness prep by NC state govt, too. A few days before the 27' flood surge (! Some areas), weather forecasters warned that rain-saturated ground would likely create extremely dangerous water run-off & flood torrents in mountain areas. Wish more residents had understood the danger & left, but I don't think the situation was govt/media-pushed or taken seriously enough in advance. Sadly, none of this is surprising. Much of the Federal hurricane financial aid issued to NC has a funny way of walking off on its own.

Tend to agree with you. Is it not also detrimental to deny people the opportunity to vote? Due to a calamity? Residents have badly damaged homes that are open to the elements & appointments with insurance claims adjusters, contractors, tree clearing people that they simply cannot miss to vote when the opportunity presents itself. Otherwise they may go to the bottom of the list for help & repairs. And if voting stations are few, have long lines & a longer distance drive - even more reasons to stay put. Plus, yes, there will likely be opportunistic looters looking to rob unguarded homes on voting day, sadly. These may sound like trivial excuses to people outside the loop but for storm victims emotionally traumatized by this mess, they may not be thinking straight. And for good reason. Just saying.
(Also agree that Desantis may have waited to see how reconstruction is going. If slower than expected, it might be why he's doing this now. But I'm not naive enough to think he's not fighting fire with fire, either. After all the cr*p Democrats have put the country through with their election games, I can honestly say Desantis is being smart, just legally, CHA. And the butts of his supporters. And all voters, in fact. Including democrat ones.)

@TheSpartan3669ย Actually, you're right - I did backtrack (it's not wrong to do that, btw) after reading about a half dozen articles about both Haley's & Trump's indiscretions. There was a difference in the accusations. Haley had two men who signed affidavits swearing she had affairs with them. Trump had verbal accusations, notably M.Maples. Which I remembered. However Maple's case involved money & silence; prenup issues. A little shaky. Regardless, I don't condone either of their behavior, & I still agree that it can overflow into disregard for public trust. However - the accuser has to show more than verbal arguments to prove their case. Trump denied the affair; Maples didn't. Which one is lying? IDK. Do you? You're biased too - if you automatically say it's Trump. I'm biased if I say Maples. You have to remember, many people have been caught making up lies about Trump to wreck his political career. eg Hotel Russia, for one. So, a rational person is going stay silent, neutral or even defend Trump, unless somebody comes up with some solid evidence of wrongdoing. Unfortunately, when a woman (or man) accepts money in lieu of speaking-up about someone doing something bad to them, it erodes her credibility. (And if Trump was skrew ing around while married, no, I don't respect that or him. It's an awful thing to do to your spouse.)
(Also, I see that you've been commenting the same to many on YT. So your Trump bias is very clear. I also think I may know who you are. Otherwise, I wouldn't have wasted time conversing with you. Troll on... ๐๐)

NATO - talk BIG, do little. And people wonder why they're bullied & smacked down by their govts. Who sets the standard of deadly group-think? Who decides who survives? Putin? Zelenski? Or those who have the power to de-escalate & stop this but look away & let them ๐๐๐๐ anyway? Putin wouldn't be doing these horrible things to innocent people, Zelenski's "fodder", if he feared an international retaliatory response, agree. At this point, if the world finally decided to blitz BOTH countries, to save itself from nuclear weapons use, nobody should be surprised, sadly. These 2 nut-jobs are holding the world hostage - this IS a hostage situation. And since neither heavily armed Zelenski or Putin care whether their own people survive, what would a proactive SWAT-like team do? This is surely the decision being weighed now. Unfortunately we'd all suffer regardless, because we have political dopes, crooks & monsters calling the shots, believing they'll somehow escape the horrible chaos they've helped create. Fools.

Styx, the reason we can't get rid of the criminals - like Hillary, Biden, Pelosi, Obama, so on - is because we CAN'T get rid of the laws protecting them. And attempting it is a pipe dream as well - because they're the ones making the laws! It's a futile vicious circle cycle of flim-flam protection for politicians; punishment for the rest of us. Too often, depending how nice you play politics.
Remember - the higher the road you take, the faster & harder you crash when your brake lines are cut. โ๏ธ Until Democrats & RINOs get some taste of what they've been piling on our country for decades - they are not going to quit. Because corruption works out too well for them.
Normally I'd agree with you about this - IF we had DC support fighting this constant Democrat garbage-piling. But, as you say, we have a Uniparty in Congress. One that is working against US citizens 24/7. Do we wait to be completely buried? Until we're finally fatally suffocated? Waiting for the Republicans to dig us out? Because this is what's happening.
I used to be optimistic, hoping politics would change for the better; doing my American citizen duties to help moderate politics improve. But things have only gotten worse for us in the middle. And I'm tired of hearing people say it has to get worse before it gets better. Absurd. You don't wait until a burning appendix explodes with fatal infection before taking yourself to the hospital. It's common sense. Peace out, I love your point of views but this one isn't connecting right now.โ๏ธ

Unfortunately, & I know this is defeatist, the kindest solution for both the dogs & guaranteed future victims ๐ฃ is to, at least, enforce mandatory spaying & neutering of this breed whenever possible. To where populations become less & more contained. And while it may open the door for other breeds to be targeted, I just don't see a another somewhat fair, humane & rational way to help curtail the problem. Because too many people are too dumb & irresponsible to assess their PB's possible unique needs & behavior. Gravely risking their children's & other's lives.
(Like the couple who just horribly obliterated their children's & own lives by taking a well-known risk, having both PBs & small children at home. Again & again these horrors happen because this breed in particular has a heavily-weighted mind toward independent thought & acting upon it. Too often, regardless of their owner's careful monitoring & control training.)
Also agree with Gabriel's comment - dogs are not inanimate objects like a hand weapon. People comparing the two methods of self-defense is unfair & unequal.
It's very common & kind for people to rationalize & speak nobly about PBs & PB ownership - the breed is constantly trounced & the focus of negative attention. But naive supporters don't grasp the legitimate reasons why, true. Only when a PB suddenly negatively "interacts" with them or their family do they understand. It shouldn't take a horrific tragedy for owners to understand that PBs are in a class of their own; specifically chosen more than most any other breed for concentrated-bred fatally aggressive mental & physical fighting traits. And most typical legal owners don't trace or know their puppy's or adopted adult dog's genetic lineage to know if theirs will be one that "snaps".
Last, shelters are excessively overloaded with sweet, yes, cruelly abandoned or surrended PBs & PB mixes - most euthanized. How is this kind & humane for the PBs that are or may not be aggressive? Continuing to uncontrollably breed them for this too typical outcome is blatant animal cruelty. Jmho.

Have completely lost track of this devastating & futile go-nowhere war, but agree that with the millions in money & weapons the US is shoveling into Zelenski's crater hole, this man's death shouldn't have happened. The torture, too.
But, will also say, arrogant travelers, wherever they come from, should absolutely obey the laws of the countries they visit. Expecting the US/home govts to bail you out of foreign jails for knowingly doing something illegal is an incredible risk to take. Harsh, yes, but look at this way - when migrants cross US borders & commit crimes that are deemed "acceptable" in their countries, angry Americans understandably blow their tops. And demand justice. Everyone should just respect each other's laws or stay home.

Uh... No inflation? Shows how out of touch this DC moron is with our country's problems. But really - he just doesn't care. Nor do his DC flunkies.
Our local "lower budget" grocery store chain is selling one dozen basic generic white eggs for $4.19 - up 300% since last year. Astounding. Fatty ground beef is approx $7.00 Lb. - up $2.50 per Lb. Rye bread nearing $5.00 per loaf. Coffee is up at least $1.50 per 12oz bag, most brands. A quart of plain yogurt up $1.50 per container. Popular lower cost pet food, if you can find it, up 20-40ยข per small can - & it may make your pet sick with stomach issues.
This is just a few examples of many.

Why would internet companies want to discriminate against their customers? They just want us to pay our monthly bills on time & add additional services to make them richer. Internet providers also offer price tier packages, low to high, to accomodate user's budgets. Still not good enough? Well, most cell phone carriers provide free unlimited internet access via cell phone contracts. Or, optional affordable budget packages, based on low usage needs. So, home internet is not really necessary anymore, most cases.
And, don't most low income people have cell phones nowadays? Many with govt paid usage packages?
This whole idea reeks of the govt, once again, controlling the majority via "helping" the poor downtrodden minority, yes. ๐ Who've, BTW, been receiving govt financial assistance to buy cell phones & home internet access for years now. It's just more deception, lies & BS from this admin. It's all they do.

Palestinians are on many people's minds - but some mainly (subliminally) because of fear & guilt complex, vs. genuine sympathy. They're seeing what happens to mostly innocent victims when their abusive govts go too far. It's scary, realizing most of us live under varying degrees of abusive leadership too - the Palestinians could be us. So, empathy is understood.
But whistling, walking thru the graveyard won't fix problems. And turning Gaza into a graveyard won't either, agree. But Hamas has grown so big, violent & entrenched that leveling Gaza may be the only fix to deal with the worst of Hamas for now. And maybe deter neighboring countries from harboring them too. Israel really has no other choice, to survive. It's a them or us issue.
(Logically, if Hamas/Iran had been encouraged to sit down & address their grievances with Israel long ago, under pressure by these many now protesting Palestinian supporters - maybe Israel's horrific massacre could've been avoided, along with the loss of Palestinians & Gaza. Where were these angry marchers, speaking-up, all these years?)

I respect Styx's thoughts about most things๐but this topic is too important to let go without comment. The biggest dumbest thing I ever did, & would change in a heartbeat if I could go back in time, was skipping school.
What started as a day here & there turned into days & weeks of absences. It becomes so easy & comfortable to skip once you start. Then quickly, you're too far behind & scared to reverse the damage. And my school district was a good one - not blighted. Not even close. But many of the teachers were idiots - even back then, true. Eventually the skipping lead to either re-doing my sophomore year or dropping out. Guess which one I foolishly chose?
That said, my entire life would've been more stable, healthier, prosperous & physically secure had I simply stayed in school just a few years longer. To formally learn some basic knowledge needed to manage early adulthood. Vs learning the hard way - constantly & repeatedly having my a55 kicked by reality. Unfortunately, many kids are not as bright as Styx & others. And need help learning the basics. Especially today, with all the distractive goofy stuff going on around them.
But, I will admit, yes, you do gain some wise life-insights early on - absolutely. But it ages & tires you far too soon. And even though my life ended-up OK, so far, (after many very bad & unnecessary battles) I'd still do things differently & stay in school. And never skip one day. And work hard to get the best grades possible.
That said, please, do not actively begin to skip school. Not even for a day. Stay & throw yourself into gaining excellent math, reading & coherent writing skills. It will set you apart from today's "normies." Barely pass the garbage if you must - but soak up the basics, learn & understand them, then get out.
You do not have to personally experience the hardships & upheavals caused by lack of basic education skills Styx mentions to believe they exist. I wouldn't write this stuff & waste people's time, maybe, if I didn't truly believe & experience it myself. He is 100% right about these pitfalls. ๐งก

Treated like animals? Yes. A few years back, had my roof replaced after a hurricane & the roofing Co sent a group of tired, disheveled, hispanic day workers. I wasn't happy, but available storm repair labor was extremely tight for months out. And the roof was badly leaking. Anyway, I gave them some breakfast because it was obvious that they needed food.
When lunchtime came & went, I asked the manager when they would break for lunch? And he said, laughing, "Don't worry about it - they're used to working all day without eating." Like they were animals. I was appalled & made them lunch anyway. And they were so sadly & embarrassingly gracious & thankful. One guy kept saying, "Bless you! Thank you!" I told them, "It's OK, it's nothing - really. Enjoy." It tore me apart. And I'm very conservative, politically.
Anyway, they worked until 9pm & did a great job. It's why I never trash most hard working Mex migrants, esp. But I do blame their govts & ours for the economic mess it's created. And using & abusing these people for political purposes. They lure them here with lies & promises, for votes, then treat them like garbage. Believing they're too dumb to see they've been used. It's going to backfire, eventually.
