Years ago, our bipolar landlord, who lived above us, called the police screaming that her baby had been kidnapped.📞😫/!! And that she had the culprit trapped in her driveway - please hurry! Within 2 minutes our duplex was surrounded by heavily armed cops. Turned out the kidnapper was her live-in legal husband, sitting in their locked car holding & protecting their child - from her. And because the baby was born to both of them, the police immediately dismissed the kidnapping charge. ("Lady - it's not illegal for a dad to take his baby outside into his yard!" 😡🚔) The couple had had yet another nasty fight - her throwing things at him, etc., so he properly removed the baby & himself from the situation. But for a few minutes, he & we were all in danger of possibly being shot. The cops were hugely pissed about the false alarm call too. But I think they only issued her a dusturbance citation. And a threat of jail time if she ever pulled the stunt again.
