@jwenting Yes, saw your answer too - great breakdown. I once worked for a large corporation with many branches that operated like this - 1 manager, 1 assistant manager & 1 team-lead for every 12 or less employees who did 95% of the work. It was absurd. Especially considering their days were mostly spent sitting in meetings & avoiding dealing with business problems above the employee's area of responsibility. Which we often ended-up having to manage anyway. I knew of decent day care centers that had fewer child monitor & worker ratios than this company. 🙄

@jwenting Well, that was about it. And probably why the company stock plummeted from $25-$30 a share to less than $4 and remained so for over a decade. This happened after they restructured in the early 2,000s. I have no idea how they kept themselves afloat. Other than with government help.

@jwenting Yes, very similar situation. Our product division was the least profitable (heavily commodity driven) of all the product divisions the parent company owned. So they sold us to a large NY investor corporation that buys, sells or restructures struggling businesses for profit. The "fat cutting" only got worse after that & the financial losses lasted a decade.

@jwenting Very little! Maybe, one recognized managerial layer at most - the next being Regional VPs. Then, Board of Directors. (Then the CFO & CEO of the company.)

Layoffs & firings are never pleasant, especially before the holidays. Luckily many of these people will be receiving unemployment benefits, food stamps & probably other govt perks to stay home & florescent-color their hair & have a few more body parts massively pierced & tattooed. Also, heard the new Ringling Brothers circus is hiring - they should look into work with them. 🦄🤡🎪
