  1. His wife took their 3 kids out for a nice day of Christmas tree & gift shopping. Joe was in DC, reportedly with Jill; his wife depressed re the affair. (According to her parents, who soon realized Joe had only married her for the family prestige & money.) Witnesses said his wife was sitting at a road intersection at the bottom of a steep hill, then she pulled out in front of the oncoming downhill truck. The truck driver was doing the speed limit & braked but couldn't stop in time. Also, she was holding her baby daughter in her lap when the truck hit. I think the answer is likely the worst, saddest thought. But only Joe & Jill probably know for sure. But hey, life goes on, right? 👎😑

  2. @saltnessmonster  Yes, you're likely right. And I agree about Hunter. The accident physically & mentally messed him up. After that, he was shuffled around by various caretakers while his brother Beau recovered & daddy went to Washington to be with Jill. I don't excuse his behavior as an adult, but I do see the looming disaster such a traumatic event could have on a child. They perpetually relive that moment & those awful years, consciously & subconsciously. Esp if they're enabled to allow it.
