It's very addictive, for sure. Since cooking healthy at home from scratch, 99% of the time now, dropped 40 pounds in 6-7 months two years ago. And the weight hasn't returned. The internal health benefits has been outstanding too. Will never go back to junk food eating again.

@Americansikkunt Years ago I was waiting in a Wendy's drive thru & watched a kid wheel a filthy dripping garbage bin to the dumpster & empty it. Then immediately return to the kitchen to cook food without washing his hands. Last time I visited the place. (I worked at a McD's, when I was a teen, & they had very strict rules about food prep & non-food handling - you weren't allowed to touch both register money & food. Doubt such hygeine happens much anywhere, anymore, & it's disgusting.)

Many have gotten away from fast food because of its bad nutrition AND high cost. I remember when Big Mac meals cost <$4, now they cost double. The less people buy the crap, the higher costs rise. To help keep the businesses afloat. Too bad though that drive thru lines are is still long. You'd think covid & obesity problems would've nudged people to eat better. (Fresh blackberry pies are the best! We grew up picking the fruit in the woods every summer. Ripe berries are delicious, low sugar, high fiber & have great antioxidant power. Just bought ingredients yesterday to make healthy muffins w/low sugar blackberry jam centers. It's really enjoyable & fun to get creative & eat well at home, vs out. 😋)

@umiluv Love it - glad you've done so well! :) Your breastfeeding mention is a really great point too. Many women don't realize how important & effective it is for quickly bouncing back & losing baby weight gain. (And so good for the baby too.) (Yes, I weigh what I weighed in HS too - it's a nice feeling & accomplishment. Yo-yo'd most of my life but realized once you hit your 50's bad eating habits can really cause damage. Did some random blood sugar tests & numbers were just shy of Type II diabetes. The signs were there in other ways too, I knew it. Luckily, completely reversed the problem just by cutting sugar & most starch carbs from my diet. Do 16-20 hour fasts between meals too. Sounds insane but after trying it, really like it. Mostly because I'm rarely hungry & it stops junk food cravings & overeating. Weird but true.)
