You can no longer mail personal checks or receive financial statements without fear of postal workers stealing the items. Or simply losing the mail. It's become a problem where I live. Just received a neighbor's bank statement in my mailbox & when I returned it to them they said it was one of several bank statements gone missing & never delivered, over the past few months.

And why banks have made it nearly impossible for customers to receive paper statements - the only legal proof of account balances. (Yes, customers can print statements at home but many states don't allow these printouts as court evidence if your account is emptied. Meaning, account info must be printed on bank letterhead. Banks have it worked out to where they can lose your money without any legal liability. "It's the customer's fault - not ours, for using & trusting our financial institution." 💰😏👉 👈😰?!

Your bank can wire your account money wherever you like, for a small fee. However, true, all of these tranfers & payments are recorded by the bank & accessible to govt agencies; IRS, law enforcement, etc.

@theunknownknows3653 Wow... this is a new one - thanks for your warning. Our state issues license plate sticker tags, too. Usually I pick it up in person at the local DMV office, but this year I was considering having it mailed to me - never mind...!

@theunknownknows3653 (Will also mention that if you're pulled over by the cops in our state, the tag alone is not enough proof that your car is registered &/or passed emissions inspection. You have to show the officer the paperwork that came with the tag or risk a ticket. Then again, if postal workers are stealing people's federal mail items, a local govt ticket is probably nothing to them.)
