  1. Been down this road many times, accepting life has changed forever & won't be as dreamed or expected. But, it's important to understand that these challenges & traumas are usually not an all-or-nothing situation. Can't have kids? Help a young person you admire achieve their dreams, as you would've helped your own child. Lost a parent under bad circumstances? Befriend & check-in on an elderly neighbor who might need assistance. Or, when you go grocery shopping, buy them a little treat & leave it on their doorstep. Can't physically manage a large home property or garden anymore? Buy or rent a smaller property with a large patio & fill pots with vegetable & flower plants. Acceptance doesn't mean defeat - just redirection. Agree - many people tread on & on to nowhere, until given an opportunity or solid excuse to rethink & change their lives.
