  1. They should collect from the shipping company, their insurers &/or the country of origin - period. I don't see why we must pay for this mess. (But you're right - somehow we probably will.)

  2. If these workers had been here legally (???), the badly injured survivor & the other 6 victim's families would probably have some employer-paid medical coverage & insurance assistance. Protective beneficial legal rights, too. Now they'll have to deal with greedy lawyers who'll make an angering public circus of this tragic situation. No doubt, lefty legal eagles are lining-up to sniff out a cut of this tragedy. 💰👺

  3. I thought so too, at first. But it appears that traffic was stopped both ways just in time. The car lights seen flashing at the moment of collapse appear to be the worker's vehicles, only - sadly but hopefully. I keep thinking, though, thank God this didn't happen during the day, esp at rush hour...
