@JayEy , Lebanon participated in the 1948 Arab-Israeli War and the 1967 Six Day War. Lebanon has engaged in “resistance,” as you like to call it, for decades. What exactly is Lebanon “resisting?” What, Israel seeks to annex Lebanon? Your problem is exacerbated when you weakly attempt to play tough guy by initiating insults such as “brain dead” during adult conversation. If you can debate like an adult, then do so. If not, you’re not worth my time.

What, Hamas only killed like 3 Israelis, kidnapped 2, and raped 1? Not sure I understand where the news exaggerated. I am not much for conspiracy theories. I’m assuming you’re trying to say that Netanyahu decided to allow the Hamas crimes to occur and let the defense down as a pretext to obliterate Gaza.

@thomassiegfried5409 , naw, I moved to Broward County almost a year ago from Philadelphia to care for my retired father. The spring and summer weather is oppressive. The people here drive like morons. Their first reaction is to recommend shooting a gun to resolve issues. They re-elect a whining governor complaining about 72 transsexuals in the state instead of focusing on major issues. He spends more time on matters outside his state than inside his state as if he’s run out of things to do here although a hurricane wiped out a city here last year.

@SomeKindOfDracula , Lebanese and Palestinians have been “vowing revenge” since 1948, which was 76 years ago if my math is right. They repeatedly have lost wars ever since. For the sake of argument, let’s pretend that you’re right, I’m wrong, and Israel “stole” Palestine from the Arabs. It’s history. It’s done. Japan and Germany lost WW 2. They signed peace treaties. They rebuilt their countries and prospered. Egypt and Jordan gave up their fights with Israel, signed treaties, and now live in peace. Palestinians and Lebanese could do the same thing. Just sign peace treaties. Make something for their cultures. Stop subjecting their people to generations and cycles of revenge and retaliation. Instead, they choose to subject their alleged constituents to misery.

@HariAaldi , it’s sad you feel compelled to post insulting emojis to distract from your argument. My “76 years” comment is valid but debatable. It’s not “completely bogus.” “Apartheid” was a South African government race-based policy. I recognize your Israeli-Arab rhetoric analogy to South Africa but disagree with it. Regardless of the merit of your analogy, it’s irrelevant to the issues of life and peace. A rational culture would conclude that 76 years of fighting a losing battle is enough. War has winners and losers throughout history. Palestinians disagree with the outcome but the outcome will not change in our lifetime. The losers reluctantly hold their nose, accept the outcome, and try their best to forge a realistic future for themselves. If the future is peaceful, then the winner can feel more secure in granting concessions to the losing side, such as independence.

@HariAaldi , I understand your argument. Most 20th Century Jews were from Europe. The additional argument is that Jews had houses there during the Roman Empire and were “kicked out.” The word “horrendous” also is applicable to European governments exterminating millions of Jews and gypsies during World War 2. Did Great Britain promise Arab Palestinians independence after World War I? Maybe. The issue culminated in warfare and Israel was “created.” It’s sad to see generations of Palestinians wasting their lives vowing revenge and retaliation for ancient grievances. They subject themselves to so-called leaders willing to sacrifice their entire society rather than acquiescence.

I’m a left-leaning Independent. However, the debate debacle has vindicated Hur IMO in his report. The audiotape should be handed over to the Republican committee at this point for whatever analytical weight they deem appropriate.
