  1. The 13 and 15 year olds stole the backpack because they hoped to find a calculus textbook in the backpack. They wanted to study before their school year begins. They asked the victims to join a Mathletes study group with them. The victims declined. The underprivileged youngsters stole the backpack purely for academic reasons. Temple will award them scholarships.

  2.  @PomegranatesWeather  , it has not been an issue since infinity. My mother attended Temple from 1947-51. She commuted there from West Oak Lane. She never told me of any security issues from back then.
