  1. My mom graduated Temple in 1951. It was not a violent neighborhood back then. She rode public transit from West Oak Lane to Temple and back.

  2.  @WALTERBROADDUS  , actually the situation is different at some of the other universities. The situation in University City and Wynnefield is better than in North Philadelphia. The situation in Logan and LaSalle is similar to Temple.
