  3.  @richardpierpoint494  He couldn't put a helicopter or fighter aircraft in the sky because of sanctions - the most effective weapons they had were machine guns on pick up trucks and some SAMs......! Your revisionism ignores that the basis for the War was the "Threat" to UK interests - 40 mins to launch a missile at Cyprus they said - "He's got em - Let's get im...!" etc - and little to do with the Kurds....! Saddam Hussein bent over backwards to avoid that War (GW2) - he offered preferential contracts to US interests to basically rebuild the whole country - to buy 1 million new American cars every year for 10 years - and to set up FBI/CIA offices to find the Terrorists that were allegedly in Iraq....! Regime Change - Pure and Simple - incidentally it was the US that supplied Saddam with the pathogens for his biological weapons program - the US loved him - until he Nationalised the Iraqi oil industry - and that made him the demon from hell.....!
