This story is all based on the claims of Catherine Corless who did a night class in history and discovered that 100s of babies died at the home and that their bodies were thrown into a septic tank. These babies died of fevers, measles pneumonia congenital conditions and many other childhood illnesses that we no longer consider to be dangerous. Improved social nutritional and medical interventions have changed that. However the narrative that they died through neglect must remain. However there is another book about theTuam home written by Brian Nugent in 2018 which forensically examined the evidence. His conclusions are radically different from the conclusions of Ms Corless. He finds no evidence to support "The Septic Tank theory". He interviewed Mary Moriarty who fell into the hole in 1975 and found ledges containing wrapped up human remains which appeared to have been reverently placed there with care. In fact she fell into a vault - a common underground structure in many Irish graveyards. This home was owned by the state and the state alone placed children there and the state inspected the home at regular intervals producing reports that are still available for scrutiny. Nothing adverse was reported upon. The Bon Secour sisters who ran the home were given a 10 shilling fee per chld and nothing else and these ladies had the impossible task of balancing their meagre budget. There was indeed neglect but by the political establishment. But it suits todays narrative to attack the Christians who did their best with what they had...!

@HangOnAMinute1 Oh I'm being "Real" for sure - but if you prefer to swallow the BS anti-Christian propaganda I pity you...! I'm guessing you've probably fallen for the Climate Crisis fraud...? Turn off RTE and do your own research...!
