I believe the Gulags were much worse than described here - some camps resorted to cannibalism - prisoners were often just dumped at a camp with no supplies - they were simply left to fend for themselves - prisoners who resorted to this would see those dropped off as a source of food....! One camp managed to get a letter to Trotsky explaining the starvation and begged for help - his reply included - "When you have to eat your own children - then you can tell me you are starving.....!"

@Rastaa69 Not neccessarily so - There were many 100s of these camps - one former camp inspector said that if he visited 2 camps a day and lived to be 100 he wouldn't be able to cover them all...! So - historical records from survivors and others would not all have been recorded by the same individual - so not everyone gets access to all the relevant history at the same time - I'm not faulting this video - simply saying that there is more detail on this part of history...! There is a story from one of the camps where they had resorted to cannibalism - a young man had taken a young woman uner his protection - he never let her out of his sight because he knew she wan't safe - eventually a day came when he had to leave the camp - when he returned she was strung up by her wrists and large sections of flesh had been cut from her body - she was still alive when he found her - but not for long...!
