  1. 5,000 tons of ore has to be refined to obtain the lithium for one EV battery - it takes 1,000 gallons of diesel to transport that ore to the refinery - it would take an average family car around 4 years to burn that much diesel - an ICE vehicle might last 20+ years if maintained well - an EV might need to replace the batteries 2 or 3 times in that period - so where exactly is the benefit to the environment...? I would say that EVs are an environmental disaster - essentially trying to solve a problem that doesn't exist with technology that doesn't work....!
