I lived in North Belfast at the time of the "Tit for Tat" murders - it was a particularly difficult time - every time the IRA did something the Loyalists would respond - and that usually meant going into a Nationalist area and shooting a random person - Taxi drivers were also a favourite target as many firms would be based in an area where it would be assumed they were Catholic...! I was in Omagh and had my van parked where the bomb was left around an hour earlier - if I had made my calls first and then went to service the shop I might not have been so lucky...!
